International Art residence and exhibition in Rodrigues, mauritius
The art festival, will take place from the 1st of April till 30th of April 2024.
30 local and international artists
The artists, from Rodrigues, Poland, Lithuania, Germany, Japan, France, Iceland and Mauritius will bring a breath of fresh air to the community. They will make their works in situ, in sheds and all sorts of spaces around the island, seeking inspiration in the local community, history and nature.
The aim of the festival is to promote artistic creation in the area, to form connections with other cultures, and to elicit the perspective of others on this seaside community.. The residence concludes in an art exhibition and performances.
Workshops for the community
During the stay the artists are asked to give workshops to local people in Rodrigues or to give introduction of themselves.
New Perspectives
The organizers are very excited to introduce local treasures to the foreign artists, and start communication and gain new perspectives on our history.
